FAQ (Frequently Asked
Questions) |
|
Do I have to sign a
contract? |
No! We do not use
contracts, "programs", or "memberships". We believe that students will return if they are learning and
having a good time! |
|
Should I attend group
classes, or take private lessons? |
Both can be good for you!
In group classes, you get a chance to make new friends and learn new moves.
During private lessons, you are able to progress much faster, because you
get all of the attention! You might also consider our
Beginners Ballroom
Basics six-week session. |
|
If I am new, which group class should I take? |
If you are brand new to
dancing. the Monday night group class, at 7:00 P.M., would be a good place
to start. You might also consider our
Beginners Ballroom
Basics six-week session. |
|
How do I
schedule private lessons? |
Just call the
studio at (913) 287-3355, or you can contact an instructor directly through
our instructors page. Private lessons are set up to fit your
schedule. |
|
What should I wear? |
You should
wear something loose. It is best to not wear tennis shoes, since they restrict your
movement. Dance shoes are best, but if that is not an option, try to wear
leather soled shoes. |
|
When am I ready to go
to the Saturday Studio Dances? |
Right after you start
taking classes! That is one of the best places to practice your new moves.
Have fun, make new friends, and remember, we ALL started at the
same place! |
|
How much
are private lessons? |
All of the instructors at
Walters Dance Center are independent, so the prices can vary slightly from
teacher to teacher. They are all experienced and very good at what
they do. |
|
Should I get a
physical before taking lessons? |
While most dancing is
not very strenuous, we would recommend that you consult with your doctor
before starting any new physical activity. |
|
Can I buy a gift
certificate? |
Yes, we have gift
certificates! They are very attractive and are individually personalized for
you. |
|
What is your bad weather policy? |
Our bad weather policy is to have the doors
open. The reason for this is because it is so hard to get the word out, and
some people travel long distances to get here. While we would not encourage
anyone to drive in bad weather, some dancers will make the trip no matter
how bad the weather becomes. We do not want them to arrive to find the door
locked. If the teacher is unable to get here, or the number is too small to
hold a class, we will at least try to have open dancing. |
|
If
someone says "Shall we dance?" |
Can
you say "I would love to!" |
If
not, we can help! |
